It seems that people find comfort in the presence of a gatekeeper that moderates what they read. I can understand why, as people tend to look for guidance and authority. In an open world, without any clear mechanism for people to understand the quality of information they are getting, some tend to believe that it is not reliable enough to follow.

I think that the problem is not in the missing gatekeeper - rather than in the lack of knowledge people have about the self governing mechanisms we have.</description>
