FoxyTunes Planet – Open to the Public

I just got an email from Vitaly and Alex Sirota, the guys behind FoxyTunes, that FoxyTunes Planet is now open to the public as a beta. FoxyTunes is one of my favorite applications. It is a simple, non intrusive toolbar that is added to FireFox and IE, and controls your media player. Simple, neat, sexy and extremely useful.

I had the pleasure of having lunch with these guys, and found two rare animals in the entrepreneurship world - they actually LISTEN TO THEIR CUSTOMERS.

The Planet is a mesh-up of various music services, such as Last.fm and Pandora as well as general sources such as YouTube and Wikipedia, giving users a one stop shop for all their music needs. As it linked to the toolbar, users quickly retrieve information about the song and band they listed to, another great usability feature. I believe the the Planet will help The Sirota Brothers to monetize their amazing application.

I am planning to have an interview with them soon, so stay tuned...
