Skype came from Europe but who would know that on the street. Skype is now in Silicon Valley. A lot comes out of the Boston area and Boston is #2 for venture capital but the general public has not heard of Bay Networks, Ascend, NMS, Sonus, Akamai, or BrightCove. They have heard of Flash but not Abode.
