I’ve just landed in video edition, so I’m not sure what I’ll be using in the next months. I’ve been playing with Premiere, but it has too many features for what I want right now: interviews and easy stuff like that.

I’ll give a try to Pinnacle Studio, seems way easier than Premiere and enough for me at the moment. What do you think?

And yes, I know I should buy a Mac and use your beloved Final Cut

Thanks for your comment. I am very happy with the VideoMic. However you should make sure that you could use it with the HG10 Shoe (the part where you connect your mike to the camera itself, on top of the camera). I looked at the footage of the body of the camera, and it seems it is identical in its position to the HV30. If this is the case, you have nothing to worry. However, in a model I used to shot the video you see on the top right side of my blog, the shoe was in a really annoying location that made it impossible to connect the VideoMic. So, if possible, I suggest you try it before you decide to buy it.
How are you editing your videos?

Just wondering if you’re still happy with your Rode VideoMic. I’ve just bought the Canon HG10 (I know it’s not the HV20 but it was a great deal), and I’m looking for a mic…And remembered your post.

This was very helpful — I’ve got to pass this off to my business partner to have a look at, since we’re in the market now for an upgrade as well…is the audio quality on the VideoMic as good as, say, the kind you’d get with M-Audio’s MicroTrack II (http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/MicroTrackII-main.html) at 48Mhz, which is what I’ll use for my audio-only interviews?
