The guys from Boxee, the social aware set top box software, just announced that they've raised $4M from Spark Capital and Union Square Ventures. The company was selected to present its amazing product at Rosh Pina Festival, earlier this month. The company managed to use their friends and family money in a very smart way, and got a lot of coverage in the blogosphere.
If you don't know their product (which is in private Alpha), the following video clip will give a glimpse of why their product is so much fun.
Personally, I believe that on a laptop it is not as useful as on a dedicated box.
I am certain that Boxee will use the money wisely, and happy that now Idan and Tom can buy me a beer.
