Hello!

I started this webseries called Flying Kebab (http://flyingkebab.com) where I'm using social medias to compliment the storyline that started in Brazil and right now is continuing in Lebanon.

Your insight in online storytelling is helping me a lot on this experiment!
Thank you very much and please continue posting more about this area!

I agree with Denise that these examples may not be as "immersive" as, say, a multi-layered mystery that would force the "viewer" to actually DO something (track clues, interact directly with fictional characters, connect disparate media across various sites, etc.). But employing the tools people traditionally use to communicate socially, and manipulating those tools to create a fictional story that elicits and emotional engagement with the audience, is definitely an experience of its own category. (And it's probably "immersive" for the people who are CREATING the story via these tools.)

Interesting idea and a great illustration of how story unfolds all around us, all the time.

I would, however, challenge the use of the term "immersive" to describe this. Immersion is generally accepted to be a more technical term that describes the physical state of being surrounded or having one's senses stimulated by audio / video sources. For example, one's sense of immersion increases when one views a video on a 50 inch TV screen (as opposed to an ipod).

Perhaps this is more akin to "experiential" or "social" storytelling?
